FAQ – Parents

For Schools: Dress them in their favorite superhero outfit! Just kidding—solid colors and comfy clothes work best. Avoid busy patterns or they may blend into the background like a chameleon.

For Sports: Make sure they’re decked out in their full uniform, including any required accessories like socks, shoes, and hats. Also, don’t forget your bat, glove, ball, racket or other sports equipment. No superhero capes, though!

For Schools: A good night’s sleep, a healthy breakfast, and a pep talk about their dazzling smile should do the trick. Maybe throw in a joke or two to get them giggling!

For Sports: Ensure they’re well-rested, have a healthy meal, and bring any necessary equipment. Maybe throw in a pep talk about their game face.

For Schools: No worries! There’s usually a retake day. It’s like a second chance at fame.

For Sports: Retake days for sports are not as common as they are for schools. Check with the league or organization for a retake day. It’s like getting a second shot at the championship.

For Schools and Sports: Yes, you can! In fact, it is the easiest way to order. It’s as easy as pie. Just follow the instructions from the school or league and click away. You can always contact your local photographer directly here.

The old-school way of Pre-Pay envelopes is also sometimes used on-site during photo day or passed out by the organization before photo day.

Absolutely! You can reorder photos anytime by ordering online with your original photo link or contact your locally owned PortraitEFX photographer directly.  

At PortraitEFX and our affiliate studios, we take the privacy and security of every child and family seriously. The information below explains how photos and personal data are stored, who has access to them, how long they are kept, and how they may be used.

How Images Are Stored

All images are stored through our secure online ordering platform, GotPhoto, which uses industry-standard encryption and privacy protections. Our affiliate studios also maintain secure local backups to ensure images are never lost. Only authorized users have access.

Who Has Access to Photos

Access to your photos is limited to:

  • Certified PortraitEFX affiliate studio staff.
  • Trusted labs involved in producing or fulfilling your photo order.

No one outside of this workflow has access to your child’s images.

How Long Images Are Kept

Images remain on file so families can reorder prints or products in the future. If you would prefer that your child’s images, be deleted sooner, your local PortraitEFX affiliate studio will gladly remove them upon request.

Sharing or Selling Photos

PortraitEFX and our affiliate studios do not sell or share student photos with outside companies, marketing agencies, or unrelated third parties.

On rare occasions, we may ask permission to use an image as an example of our work for promotional purposes. This is always optional, and any request not to use your child’s image will always be honored.

Group Photos

Group photos follow a slightly different privacy process due to the nature of the image.

  • If your child appears in a group photo, that image is available for purchase by other families whose children are also in that group.
  • Group photos are also provided to the school or organization that hired us, since they are part of the service package.
  • Once other families or the organization receive the image, PortraitEFX and our affiliate studios do not have control over how those images may be used or shared.
  • PortraitEFX and our affiliate studios do not distribute group photos beyond that specific group or organization.

If you would like your child removed from future group photos, please inform your local affiliate studio, and we will accommodate that request.

Removal Requests

If at any time you would like:

  • Your child’s individual images deleted from our systems, or
  • Their images excluded from promotional uses.

Your local PortraitEFX affiliate studio will take care of that promptly.

We can also ensure your child is not included in group layouts going forward if requested.

PortraitEFX offers a Full Satisfaction Guarantee. If the photos aren’t to your liking, you can certainly get a retake on the provided retake day or receive a full refund.  We take care of our clients by doing whatever may be necessary. 

Some of our locally owned regions even have a full portrait studio you can go to for a retake day all your own.
